The City of Pembroke Pines is providing financial assistance to assist low and moderate income homeowners, elderly and disabled residnets to make minor home repairs to owner occupied households. Assistance is in the form of 0% interest deferred loans up to $25,000 per household. No monthly payments are made by homeowner and money is repaid only if the house is sold. The types of repairs the program will assist with include but are not limited to the following: code violations, windows, plumbing, heating and air-conditioning, roofing gutters and fascia, stucco, exterior painting of home, kitchen or bath cabinets and countertops (evidence of deterioration), water heaters, electrical work, install new insulation, install new deadbolt locks, install new smoke alarms, replace carpet, modifications to increase accessibility of the elderly and disabled, cost effective energy conservation measures, including solar heating, cooling and water systems, installation of Energy Star rated fixtures, installation of shutters, repair/replace kitchen and bath flooring (only if part of rehabilitation), and repair/replace bath fixtures (only if part of rehabilitation).
